All Virtual CD programs install a service called the Virtual CD v10 Management Service. Virtual CD FS installs another service as well, called the Virtual CD v10 FS Service, on the computer on which Virtual CD FS is installed. The two services have the following tasks:
| • | The Virtual CD v10 Management Service provides many of the functions for managing the virtual CD drives. |
| • | The Virtual CD v10 FS Service provides a number of functions for managing virtual CD drives specifically in the file server environment. One of its main tasks is to make virtual drives accessible when there are no users logged on to the file server. In addition, this service ensures access to virtual CDs stored on other servers in the network. |

Both services are set to start automatically. If either service is not running, a number of important Virtual CD FS functions will not be not available, which in turn will result in errors. |
